Modern cars have a lot of fancy features, buttons, commands and what else… However, it is good to know some things in order to maintain your car the best way you can. Good thing that some mechanics decided to share a few tips and warn the driver of potential damage they can do to their car. These are the 10 Mechanic advice:
1. Never Press The “Turn Off Engine” button while the car is still running!
Of course, if for some reason you do press it, or accidentally do it, don’t worry. All cars have a way to prevent you from accidents. But, just DON’T DO IT!
2. Don’t Select “R” While You Are Driving!
Of course, even if you do so the computer in your system will ignore this command. However, it is not really a good idea.
3. Don’t select “P” while driving!
If you do so, the computer, once again will deal with this problem. However, it is a really complex order and it might bring damage to your vehicle.
4. Don’t keep your home keys together with your car keys!
If you are one of those people who have a whole key set of all the keys you own in the world, stop being that guy! The keys are too heavy and can damage your ignition!
5. Change the oil!
What’s there to say? Just change your oil! It’s that simple.
6. When changing oil, do not overfill!
Once again – yes! Just don’t overfill it!
7. Go to the gas station more often!
Don’t wait until you empty your gas tank to refill it! Always have half tank full.
8. Warning signs are not there to be ignored!
When some of the warning lights go on, fix the problem! Fumes are not that serious? Please. Don’t even.
9. Check the pressure on your tires!
Don’t allow that tire to be flat! Check the pressure.
10. Check the wheel balance!
Whenever you hit something, a curb or whatever, check the balance immediately!
